When are UT Austin’s Fall 2026 final exams?
Fall 2026 finals are December 10, 11, 12, and 14. Nothing is scheduled on Sunday, December 13. Find your exam time below by when your class meets, then confirm it in My Final Exam Schedule.
In this guide
When is my final, based on when my class meets?
A default time is not your confirmed assignment. Confirm your section’s time and room in the official class lookup or My Final Exam Schedule.
All times are Austin time (Central). Registrar’s Fall 2026 timetable, checked .
Each class gets a two-hour default final set by its meeting days and start time. Find your class in the table. If the department gives a uniform final instead, My Final Exam Schedule shows that time.
For an unusual meeting time, UT uses the closest standard time below. If a class sits exactly between two, it gets the later one: a TTH 1:15–2:45 class takes the TTH 2–3:30 p.m. final.

From the Registrar’s Fall 2026 finals page, checked November 4, 2026. My Final Exam Schedule shows your own section’s time.
How do I see my own exam schedule?
Sign in to My Final Exam Schedule with your UT EID. It lists the date and time of each of your finals. To check one class without signing in, search its unique number in the Registrar’s final exam lookup.
Fall 2026 schedules went up September 21, and the Registrar says they can still change during finals week. Check again the week before. If a class is missing or your syllabus says something different, ask the instructor.

| Situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| Default final | Use your section’s listed time |
| Uniform (department-wide) final | Save its time and its makeup time |
| Two finals at the same time | Check which kind each one is, then use the rule below |
| More than three finals on one day | Ask about moving one to another day |
What do you need to check about finals?
Where is my Fall 2026 exam time?
Use My Final Exam Schedule, or the Registrar’s lookup for one class.
- Sign in to My Final Exam Schedule with your UT EID.
- To check one class, search its unique number in the public lookup.
- Save each date and time, then check again the week before finals.
What if I need a different semester?
Each semester posts its own finals page.
- Open the Registrar’s Course Schedules page.
- Choose the semester and its Final Examinations page.
- If times aren’t posted yet, wait for them rather than guessing.
What if my class has a uniform final?
Use that department-wide exam’s time and its makeup time.
- Find the uniform final in My Final Exam Schedule.
- Save its makeup date and time too.
- Compare both with your other finals and ask the instructor about a clash.
What if two finals are at the same time?
The kind of exam decides which makeup or instructor to use.
- Check whether each one is a default or a uniform final.
- Default plus uniform: take the uniform one at its makeup time. Two uniform: take one at its makeup time.
- Two default finals: ask the instructor who chose a non-default time.
What if I have several finals in one day?
UT’s alternate-day rule starts at more than three finals on one day.
- Count the finals on that day.
- If there are more than three, ask the instructor of your latest two-hour exam about another day.
- Check overlapping times and accommodations as well.
What is a uniform final, and when are they?
A uniform final is one exam a department gives to several classes at once. It runs three hours, falls outside the default times, and has a set makeup time. My Final Exam Schedule shows both.
Scroll the table to compare every column.
| Day | Three-hour slots |
|---|---|
| Thursday, Dec 10 | 8–11 a.m., noon–3 p.m., 3:30–6:30 p.m., 7–10 p.m. |
| Friday, Dec 11 | 3:30–6:30 p.m., 7–10 p.m. |
| Saturday, Dec 12 | 8–11 a.m., noon–3 p.m., 3:30–6:30 p.m., 7–10 p.m. |
| Monday, Dec 14 | 3:30–6:30 p.m., 7–10 p.m. |
What do I do if two finals are at the same time?
It depends on the kind of exams. If a default final overlaps a uniform final, take the default one as scheduled and the uniform one at its makeup time. If two uniform finals overlap, take one of them at its makeup time.
If two default finals overlap, the instructor who chose a non-default time for their exam has to give you another time. Email both instructors with the course, unique number, and exam time. Don’t skip an exam to solve a clash.
Can I move a final if I have three in one day?
Not under UT’s rule, which starts at more than three finals on one day. With four or more, ask the instructor of your latest two-hour exam that day to let you take it on another day.
Two finals on Thursday and two on Friday don’t count as four in one day. An instructor also can’t make you take a makeup on a day that would put you over three.
When are Spring 2027 finals?
Spring 2027 finals are April 29–30 and May 1 and 3. The Registrar has already posted the spring exam times by class meeting time on its Spring 2027 finals page. Personal spring exam schedules open February 8, 2027.

| Date | Semester |
|---|---|
| Dec 10–12 and 14, 2026 | Fall 2026 finals |
| Apr 29–30 and May 1 and 3, 2027 | Spring 2027 finals |
When can I leave for winter break?
After Monday, December 14, the last day of finals. The Registrar says not to plan travel before then, because exam times can still change during finals week. Instructors then have until December 14–17 to submit grades; our final grades guide shows the date for each exam day.
UT residence halls close December 15. Spring 2027 registration and its tuition dates are in our registration guide, and the full year is on our academic calendar.

How we got this
Exam dates, default and uniform times, and conflict rules come from the Registrar’s Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 finals pages and the 2026–27 academic calendar, checked November 4, 2026. The three-exam rule comes from UT’s General Information Catalog.
The tables show the times UT sets by class meeting time. Your own section’s time is in My Final Exam Schedule, and an approved accommodation goes through UT’s own process.
