What about accounting, finance and MIS?
In the 2027 U.S. News undergraduate specialties, accounting is third, MIS fourth, and finance and marketing fifth.
Entrepreneurship and management are sixth, production/operations seventh, and real estate, insurance and quantitative analysis eighth. Those are specialty ranks, not separate overall BBA ranks.
What does the undergraduate rank measure?
McCombs says the U.S. News business ranking uses surveys of deans and program directors at accredited business programs. Read it as a comparison of reputation, not a measurement of your future pay or one class’s teaching.
Compare schools using the same publisher, edition and degree. A tie doesn’t justify ranking the tied schools against each other.
Does the research ranking tell me about the BBA?
The school also lists research ranks of No. 12 from Financial Times in February 2026 and UT Dallas in March 2026. They describe research lists, not the BBA’s overall world position.
For job outcomes, find a report for the same degree and graduating class, and check who responded and what the pay figure includes.
How should I use the ranking?
Use it to find programs to investigate, then compare classes, net cost, location and alternatives you’d attend.
A rank doesn’t tell you whether the electives you want fit your plan or will be offered in your semester.
