Where can I find a studio apartment near UT Austin?
West Campus Flats, 2400 Nueces, and Rambler advertise studio layouts near UT. Check whether the quote rents the entire apartment to one person: a private bedroom in a shared apartment and a double-occupancy studio buy different amounts of privacy.

Three places to begin a studio search
West Campus Flats at 2104 San Gabriel advertises 400-square-foot studios and fall 2027 preleasing. Its page labels the rent as a full-apartment amount and includes parking. Ask for the selected unit, lease dates, furniture, and complete bill before comparing it with a room price elsewhere.
2400 Nueces shows a furnished 386-square-foot studio and a 567-square-foot one-bedroom. The studio combines the sleeping and living space; the one-bedroom has a bedroom off the living area. UT’s eligibility rules apply, and a plan’s presence on the website doesn’t show a vacancy for your dates.
Rambler offers studio layouts and allows double occupancy in studios and one-bedrooms for an additional charge. Ask whether the quote assumes one occupant or two and which required charges belong to your chosen arrangement.
Scroll the table to compare every column.
| Property | What the official page says | What to settle in the quote |
|---|---|---|
| West Campus Flats | 400-square-foot studio; whole apartment; parking included | Move-in date, furnishings, utility bills, and fees |
| 2400 Nueces | 386-square-foot furnished studio; university eligibility applies | Eligibility, contract year, payment count, and availability |
| Rambler | Studio layouts; double occupancy available for an extra charge | Occupant count, total charges, and exact layout |
A starting list, not a vacancy search or a cheapest-apartment ranking.
A private bedroom still has shared rooms
A studio puts the kitchen, living area, and sleeping area inside the same apartment. A private bedroom in a four-bedroom unit still shares the kitchen and living room. Two people in a studio share the sleeping and living space; neither has a separate bedroom.
Look at the floor plan before the photos. Find the window, desk, storage, kitchen, laundry, and bathroom entrance. Ask for the actual unit’s layout if the tour is only representative, especially when a larger floor plan has several versions.
Living alone means paying the whole bill
With invented inputs, a $1,400 studio paid in 12 installments costs $16,800 before extras. Add $100 a month in utilities and the annual total becomes $18,000. You pay that bill yourself even if you spend summer away.
Compare that with a private-bedroom quote for the same lease year and payment count. Keep the room privacy and shared spaces visible next to the price, and add parking only when you plan to use it. The housing comparison and fee guide help put those lines together.
The door is worth a price you can name
Ask yourself how much you would pay over the whole lease for control of the kitchen, guests, cleaning, and quiet hours. Compare that amount with your funding after food, transport, and other bills.
Choose a studio when living alone is worth its full extra cost. If the budget works only when you divide the rent with someone else, decide whether sharing one open room is the home you want before you sign.
How we got this
Official layouts, addresses, inclusions, and occupancy descriptions were checked November 2, 2026. This list doesn’t rank prices or confirm vacancies. The budget example uses invented amounts. Obtain a written offer for the named unit, occupants, lease year, and payment schedule.
